The Home of "Blanche and Baby Jane Hudson"

172 S. McCadden Place, Hollywood, CA
Robert Aldrich filmed exteriors here for his gothic masterpiece Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? It was ostensibly inside this mansion that wheelchair-bound Blanche Hudson (Joan Crawford) and her sister Baby Jane (Bette Davis) lived out their tragic lives of fear and hatred. Blanche: "You wouldn't be able to do these awful things to me if I weren't still in this chair." Jane (with all the Bette Davis intonation that only Bette Davis could provide): "But you are Blanche! You are in that chair!" In reality, all interiors were of course filmed at Producers', now Raleigh Studios, at 5300 Melrose.
