Old Hollywood and "New"

An interesting mix at a function in 1955: (l. to r.) Betty Blythe, silent screen femme fatale, Hank Mann, silent screen slapstick comic, Susan Cabot, 1950s starlet, Mack Sennett, legendary silent screen slapstick producer and innovator, and Peggie Castle, 1950s starlet. The veterans enjoyed long lives but both of the starlets died tragically, Cabot murdered by her own son, and Castle, an incurable alcoholic whose life had completely unravelled, of a heart attack.

THE HOME OF SUSAN CABOT

4601 Charmian Ln.
Encino,CA

The hilltop Encino home of 1950s cult leading lady Susan Cabot (The Wasp Woman). Tragically she was killed here by her own son in 1986. Suffering from dwarfism and a whole slew of psychological problems, Timothy Scott Roman was convicted of involuntary manslaughter but only served a 3 year suspended sentence. Susan Cabot was 59 years old when her son bludgeoned her to death in her bedroom with a weightlifting barbell.
