Veteran B-western villain Bob Kortman (1887-1969) and his wife, former Mack Sennett Bathing Beauty Gonda Durand (1896-1960) lived in this delightful apartment building in the eastern part of Hollywood just around the corner from the eponymous boulevard. Gonda had given up screen acting after her days in the sun with the likes of Marie Prevost and Mack Swain but Kortman continued playing sagebrush villains of the kind that would gladly kick a dog (hence the industry term "dog heavy") until 1951. He later reportedly did janitorial work for the Directors Guild.
