THE HOME OF JACK LUDEN

10441 Ashton Ave., Los Angeles, CA
Dwarfed by a modern apartment building, this little bungalow just west of the famous Los Angeles Country Club and very much "Beverly Hills adjacent" belonged in 1930 to MGM starlet Anita Page (1910-2008). Later in the decade it was purchased by Columbia Pictures' newest, and briefest, cowboy star, Jack Luden, of the Pennsylvania cough drop dynasty. Sadly, Luden never caught on with the Saturday matinee crowd and he died in 1951 at San Quentin, convicted of drug possession and financial malfeasance. He was 49
