Noir writer Raymond Chandler did indeed once live in this East Hollywood apartment court just below the fashionable Los Feliz, but the place is remembered today under quite a different name, 4616 Melrose Place, ostensibly a location in trendy West Hollywood and the exteriors for the eponymous Aaron Spelling nighttime soap opera of the 1990s.

Back in 1989 I lived on Dracina Drive about a half bloock from the Chandler place. Hated when Melrose was shooting exteriors because they would block Greenwood and take up all the surrounding zparking spots. I did manage to get in the craft service line and get fed a couple of times. Fair is fair.
